Reservations and Training Contact us to take a tour of the facility and discuss what system will best suit your experiment. When we have decided on a system, you may setup a training session with the appropriate facility contact. Once you have been trained on an instrument, you may schedule yourself for usage. Contact the Managing Director via email (jmeerloo@ucsd.edu) or telephone (858) 534- 0538 to check availability if you require technical assistance. You must give 48-hours notice.
We can help you with your imaging, or train you to use the instruments independently. Basic instruction can take anywhere 2 - 4 hours depending on the instrument and experience of the user. Use of the facility is heavily grant subsidized, so the cost is relatively low. After training, someone will be there to assist you during business hours should you need help or further consultation. For infrequent microscope use, or for imaging material which requires a great deal of expertise, it may be more cost effective to let us help you. Please contact us to schedule an assisted imaging session. How the facility operates: The UCSD School of Medicine Light Microscopy facility is an integrated facility utilizing resources provided by the School of Medicine, the UCSD Neuroscience Microscopy Shared Facility, and the UCSD Moores Cancer Center Digital Imaging and Cell Microinjection facility. Users from throughout UCSD are welcome and are billed on a recharge basis. |
